About

Waters Edge Enterprises, Inc was started in 2002 by Dave & DJ Roeser. The first building purchased is in Arden Hills, MN and housed their growing business. Later that year they purchased a ski chalet rental property is a resort location in Bessemer, Michigan. Bookings are through Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort.

In 2003, having out grown the Arden Hills facility, Waters Edge purchased the Maplewood, MN building. This 20,200 sq. ft. facility was split into two postal addresses to coincide with two different businesses, manufacturing and sales/distribution. The Maplewood facility was 5,000 sq. ft. of commercial kitchen which became the home of Turtle Popcorn. In 2009 those businesses moved on and the building became an indoor farm and incubator kitchen for food start up companies. Today the Maplewood building is a very diverse building with several start ups and languages spoken. The grounds were planted with perm-culture from cherry trees, raspberry bushes, rhubarb, and asparagus. Inside, sprouts and microgreens are grown year round and a CSA/Food Hub is operational.

In 2007, the Como Duplex was added to the company. Extensive remodeling was undertaken at that time. A two bedroom unit upstairs with the original woodwork, with the lower unit having the identical layout on the first floor and two more bedrooms and a bath in the basement. Rec-room area and small kitchenette in the lower level. Both units have a 3 season porch, one garage stall off street parking, and in the unit laundry. A common brick patio with gas barbecue, yard, garden and a separate seating area on 1 1/2 city lot make this a pet friendly rental home..

A development property in Bessemer, Michigan was added in 2008. There are 32 acres of forest with 1,700 feet of shoreline on Chaney Lake. The property is scheduled to be selectively harvested in 2019, opening the property to roads, trails and building sites. Special care for the environment will be taken, and wild animal food plots will be added. We will be planting with rare chestnut trees. We foresee this property becoming an “Eco-Resort” with lake access for kayaks, tiny home, off the grid (with solar panels) accommodations. A small carbon footprint vacation, a true get away.
